A MESSAGE FROM OUR MAYORSAlbury and Wodonga have always shared more than a border. Our two cities are deeply connected — through our people, infrastructure, services, and the many challenges and opportunities we face together. With the signing of the Two Cities One Community agreement, we reaffirm our long-standing commitment to working side-by-side to deliver better outcomes for our communities. This renewed partnership reflects a shared ambition to shape a stronger, more sustainable future for the Albury-Wodonga region. We know that collaboration leads to better planning, more efficient use of resources and stronger advocacy. By aligning our efforts around common goals — under the pillars of Leadership, Economy, Environment and Community — we are taking a coordinated, strategic approach to the issues that matter most to our residents. This agreement sets out a clear framework for action. It supports joint planning, shared investment in infrastructure, and united advocacy to state and federal governments. It also ensures our councils remain transparent and accountable, with regular reporting to our communities. Importantly, it respects the unique character of each city while recognising the advantages of acting as one community on regional issues. We are proud to lead this next chapter in the Albury-Wodonga partnership — a practical and forward-looking commitment to building a region that is liveable, resilient and well-prepared for the future. | |
